Jim Lampley (born April 8, 1949) is an American sportscaster, news anchor, movie producer, and restaurant owner. Lampley has covered a record 14 Olympic Games on U.S. television, most recently the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. His father died when he was five. His mother immersed him in sports to make up for what she felt his father would have done. He was raised in Hendersonville and Miami, Florida.
